Easier cranking.

Moves more air through to evaporate excess charge. Also increases the amount injected because the AFM opens wider, but the balance seems to favor clearing out at least mild flooding.

Never heard of this trick - usually at Electric Boat when they release one they have crowds of thousands, wife of some relevant person to smash the champagne bottle, huge wave as she goes plunging down the ways...sorry. I've never heard of any trick with the emergency brake other than releasing it before you drive off to avoid those offensive burning smells, and although I'd love to hear what it is I have to say it screams "snake oil" on the face of it.
