Oops, I'm sorry. That's the actuating line that has the tiny orifice. But the main suction line is upstream of the AFM, which means that with the engine not turning any fumes will fill the filter box, pass through the filter and fall out the drain holes in the bottom. Again, a volume that will be cleared in a couple revolutions of the engine.

Dunno if it has a standard failure mode.
