You could always install some studs on those front hubs; in fact, I think some of the big brake kits do just that during the conversion. Another idea is to simply carry one stud as an alignment pin so to speak. When I switched over to my Mercedes wheels, they had a different ball seat then the stock rims, so I actually have to carry an extra set of bolts myself. One of these days I will get a proper spare... I also find it very helpful to have a woodworkers flatbar, which I use as a lever. One hand (palm) goes on the top of the tire, the other lifts the tire into alignment with the bar. I have such a bad back, that it's the only way for me to change over to winter tires. Seems to me the guy who sells spacers and such on the Samba has alignment pins or studs, if you want to go that route.
