Our 03 passat came with a plastic version of this, it worked well. I'm not sure about my 06 and I know my 01 Jetta did not. That said I don't even seek it out anymore, I put a 17mm on an extension, place on bolt, put bolt through wheel and use one hand on extension with bolt through hole and my left hand on tire to guide the bolt to a top hole. I get bolt in a thread or two then push wheel against hub and hand tighten using knee to keep wheel on hub. It took a few rotations and brake jobs to get the method down pat..... All three vehicles use the wheel bolts. > > > > > > > > > Nah, the trick is the tire mounting stud found standard in Mercedes and BMW > > > (when they had spare tires) toolkits.
