I think the method I described which others also use and endorsed comes from being of rather slight build and always looking for ways that need the use of less muscle. The various methods using feet and legs always got me all dirty too. I had about a 25 year career of autocrossing FWD VWs and for a good part of that I was changing tires at the event, then putting street tires back on to drive home. A lot of tire changing. Those are the hubcentric wheels with bolts and thinking back I think they are even more frustrating because as someone mentioned the hub turns with the wheel when you try to line up the holes. Eventually I got the habit of putting the e-brake on and putting the trans in gear... sheesh I don't miss changing 4 tires in a hot parking lot after baking in the sun all day. Edward
