I just opened up the Swepco site since I was curious, and it's been a few years since I changed gear oil (time flies). The debate seems to center on whether one should use GL-5, or Swepco gear oil. According to the Swepco site, ALL of their various gear oils ARE GL-5. I am not trying to extend the debate here, but I am curious. I live in Phoenix, so cold weather performance is of limited importance to me. I think I've only started the van below 40F once or twice since 1985. Karl Wolz |
