You need to make sure is getting the box into some gear. Since it suddenly stopped with shifting/clutch actuation I would suspect the input shaft may have separated from the main shaft, especially if the engine was recently out. There is a coupling-screw-snap ring set up that holds the two shaft pieces together. Tranny is coming out.

Returning from a quick trip to the wilds of the north Maine woods I Wu-Wei developed a sudden problem. after a stop I shifted into 1st gear and nothing happened . Clutch seems to have proper resistance but no transmission engagement. Does anybody have any ideas of what the problem might be and, more important, what the fix might be. Thanks - Dake
