Yes! One aspect of that alignment that might be easy to miss (was for me) was the 3:00 and 9:00 orientation of manifold to body.

If one uses a mechanics mirror and flashlight, they can see if the manifold is sealing to the gasket. Image:

If I'm not mistaken, if you're writing of the O-rings between the manifold and exhaust and intake pipes? I found Viton O-rings to work just fine.

They weren't hard to source. Found them at a local shop that specializes in seals.
