I've run these on many  engines. They fire a lot better than the W7DTCs. As
is common with small wire platinum plugs lots of cold, short run operation,
oil control issues, or any excessive over rich or miss firing operation can
cause them to carbon foul.

        Awhile back Denis recommended these plugs: Bosch 4477.  Upon this
recommendation I ordered some from my Bosch supplier.  They arrived
yesterday and I now see these are the Bosch Platinum with four tips.  Now,
here's my question, anyone have any real life experience with these plugs in
the 1.9 and 2.1 waterboxer engines ?  I seem to recall having bad experience
with them here.  Seems to me the ignition system on the waterboxer engined
Vanagon's is not powerful enough to fire these plugs correctly.  Am I just
dreaming or what ?
