I've used Bosch 4477 plugs for more than 5 years in both 1.9s and my 2.1
(although the 2.1 uses 1.9 wiring).  In that the 4 tips don't fire
simultaneously they don't require any more electricity to operate.  They
do, however, fire more positively.  My experience has been better gas
mileage and smoother idle.
