That's really useful Dennis. Would never have thought of those ideas. A few punch marks on the spindle. Neat idea. I imagine that would be a last resort?

I imagine that if the Vanagon front bearings are adjusted just a little too tight, at certain times, (or all the time?) the rollers would bear down on the inner race, grab it, and turn it. Like when turning a corner.
