The fittings he is talking about are different from the extend a flow/stay fittings.  I have a similar adapter that connects to the fill and was going to try using it with a barbq tank, just haven't gotten around to testing it.  I am hoping it will have enough pressure to open the valve once my main tank is empty.  We'll see. there are kits available for what you want to do, in case you are uncertain about the proper fittings to use.  And from all reports they do work.  I believe that either Bus Depot or Van Cafe has them.  One of them does at least, and calls the kit "Extend A Stay."  mcneely
