Ok, for those that wanted to know more about camping in Tofino, BC…

We stayed at the immaculately clean "Crystal Cove" campground resort. Cost was $55/night plus 12%HST. Ouch! Firewood and clean showers are included. The only bad thing other than the price was the lack of space between sites. We also checked out the close-by "Bella Pacifica" campground which looks a bit run down and has some really poorly planned sites (very steep slopes on some.) but at least you can find several sites with plenty of space between your neighbouring campers. Cost here was steep as well; Between $40 and $50/night + taxes. Both Crystal Cove and Bella Pacifica are on the very nice, McKenzie Beach. The campground at the Golf Course & Airport was closed for the season so didn't walk through for a check-out. We did, however drive through the National Park campground "Greenpoint" on the way out of town and was thoroughly impressed. Sites here are large and well planned with tons of space between other sites. Bring your own wood though as bundles here are advertised as $6.50 each. Starting next season you will need to buy both a camping fee as well as a National Park Pass (annual or daily) to camp here. Tofino is not cheap but for those that need there fix of big surf and nice sandy beaches there isn't much other option available to us Canucks in the "Great White North".
