As is usually my luck with this sort of thing, I tried this trick on my squeaky front blower motor. Drilled 3 holes before I got it right, lubed the motor and a few days later it stopped squeaking! It locked up tight! Sure was fun pulling that dash!! If you end up going that route, take the advice that I got (don't be an "askhole" like I was! Word of the day, "askhole"-someone who asks for advice then ignores it) and buy the more expensive blower motor, not the $59.00 one.
