Good to know, and appreciated. IIRC, very little if any brake fluid dripped down during master cylinder R&R. Strange how that can happen. Could vibrations cause the wire to move enough, over time, to work harden the brass?

Still. That metal box was a relatively bad idea.

Do it once, do it right! (well that's my ultimate goal anyway ;^)
