Most RTV silicones warn against using in the presence of gasoline. Recently at work we had a training seminar from Henkel, (Loctite). Many silicones that work buy etching the surface for adhesion. These should not be used on some aluminum as they will cause surface corrosion. Try that on your waterboxer head gaskets!

I suspect that finding an RTV sealant that will stand up to the witch's brew that's currently sold as 'gas' will be a real challenge. Gasoline tends to turn RTV into jelly, Maybe 'gas' is different.
