dumb thing? -Leave it (and the other two cars, house, garage and bikes) unlocked. We are not in a big city, but about 300 metres (less than a quarter mile) from some housing projects. Nothing ever moves.

-Twice, living downtown Toronto near High Park, parked right on Keele Street, I left the van cargo door wide open, $2000 bike propped against it, full rack of climbing gear, two ropes, open and visible, all night. Didn't do that on purpose! (Maybe it looked like I was camping there and would be right back?) Was surprised that a homeless person hadn't moved right in. Had to put some measures into place to be sure that never happened again.

Askin' for it, gab
