I had the same thing almost happen on my 91, it was almost falling down
when I got the car. I had to glue the outer plastic back together, then
reinforce it with some thin aluminum epoxide to the inside. I made an
oversize flange to mount it back to the ceiling (a flat piece of metal with
two holes in it). If you look, you can see one small screw head showing,
otherwise it's perfect.
I have one of those OEM recall metal flanges if anyone wants a scan to make
or measure one.
