For daily use it's the normal keyring (van key, other van key, motorcycle key, house key, mystery key, etc.) but on trips I stow that and revert to using the "I heart my van" key fob from the PO with the plastic-head OEM key.  There's a spare stashed in case the inevitable occurs, which it has not, yet.  Yet.

When driving for a living years ago I learned to keep a second key in a different pocket in case the inevitable occurred, which DID actually occur back then, which made me start doing that to begin with.

Repeated dumb stuff?  Does leaving it in the driveway umcamped for weeks on end count?

Stephen

I keep spare keys in my pocket.
