Yep, 8/84. That's a revelation, the Bentley is full of little nuggets.  So
much for German engineering.  So I should be looking for a newer speedo?
It's crap anyway, needle flips all over the place.

Let's see, it's been awhile, but last time I checked 100 times 1/100 equals
1.  Mine says 804 on the face, or 804 x 100 x 1/100 = 804 turns/mile.
Simplified, that's 804 x 1.  Idiots.  And don't get me started on those
useless wiring diagrams.

I'm going to guess that your (incomplete vehicle) production date was before
December '84?  See 90.30...customers must have screamed.

Interesting wording in the note at the end of 90.30.  Number printed on
speedo is 100 times number of turns of the shaft in 1/100 mile...did someone
quoting from VDO test procedures have a problem with abstraction?
