Subject: NVC great race
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=windows-1252

The great race Many many moons ago, before the T3 was even a gleam in the eye of a VW engineer, I was contentedly driving my clapped out VW bus when I came to a stop light. Next to me, a friend pulled up in HIS clapped out VW Bus. I looked at him, he looked at me. I revved my engine, he revved his engine. I moved slightly forward, HE moved slightly forward. Keeping an eye on the light and an eye on the opponent, we revved our engines and waited. The light turned green. With two angry roars like highly irate lawn mowers we raced across the intersection. And raced across the intersection. And raced across the intersection. Time moved rather slowly here, so I’ll type slowly to give the proper impression. He started pushing on his dash board to gain that infinitesimal advantage, so I countered with a push on my steering wheel, logically concluding that the angle of the steering wheel would give me a better leverage and thus a better advantage. About halfway down the street, coughing and belching overheated VW exhaust we passed a local Constabulary standing between two parked cars. He was laughing soo hard we were in no danger of any kind of a citation.

Just thought I’d share an old memory, as it is a Friday.

Ed-91 DoKa, now with power.
