A jumper or mechanic's remote starter switch will start the automatics just as well as the manuals. It's a bit more dangerous because if the manual is in gear you know it instantly, whereas the automatic will wait until the engine is running and then move off. To get to the starter control terminal you reach forward with your left hand over the top of the bell housing, then reach to the right. There is probably a spare spade terminal there that you can hook to without unhooking the regular control wire from the ignition switch. Jumper to the B+ stud on the alternator. Yrs, d |
