obviously ..
one doesn't 'bypass the ignition system' when using a Remote Starter
Switch to operate the starter.
Doing that bypasses the start function part of the ignition switch, so
'yes' in that sense,
but it's not 'bypassing the ign system" really.
it's very useful to energize the starter with a remote starter switch
while taping the starter with a hammer.
I just give 'em a nice whack on the starter body, not the solenoid.
If that makes the starter go one more time...
in every case I've seen it's a sign that the starter is almost dead.
