We have ASME tanks, not DOT ones.


Google is easy to use, there are many references to the need to purge
new propane tanks, of any type. In addition to having filling problems
due to having to pressurize the contained air, failure to purge can
result in internal corrosion of regulators and valves, due to the
unremoved water.
