I'm cheap. I replaced everything, and cleaned and repainted the tank. The tank was in excellent condition; if you live where roads are salted yours may not be. The old auto stop was frozen, it leaked, and the shutoff valve wouldn't shut off completely. About a $100 for a non-auto stop fill valve, bleed valve, and shutoff on any RV web site. New OEM tanks for $350 (plus shipping) have auto stop, but that is not required for RV tanks. Just be sure to tell the attendant it's only a 3 gallon tank if you don't have the auto stop!

If you DIY it, be sure to get pipe dope for high pressure gas connections, wrap a couple of turns of Teflon tape around the threads and goop them up with the dope over the tape. You need a big pipe wrench too.

Howdy Folks, ... curious if any of you are still using your original propane tank setups with updated valves, etc or did you procure a new one?

Have a great Tuesday,
