Looking at Amazon.com, for $1500-$4000 or so instead of $10 for a single-use stapler they could have had titanium;* so I'm feeling a bit like the poor relation anyway. ;-)

*Oh, all right, I strongly suspect the titanium ones are meant to be left inside forever. I can just see the coming clash between cyborg-medicine and airport security, with fliers having to carry around reams of bumf documenting the serial number and provenance of every non-OEM bit inside them; and real-time updating of all the dampware. Arrgghhh, my pelvis just crashed!
