Hi all. It rained like heck last night. Like totally LOUD rain. This morning, to my dismay, saw sizeable puddles in my Westy. I'm using a garden hose, no nozzle. You can hear the water pressure increase from no thumb, to thumb on hose. My point; it's easy to assume. There's often so much work to do on a Westy or straight up Vanagon, that it's easy to over look something like that. Especially if the paint etc. looks "ok" or at least passable. Like I don't see any rust, but now realize that the body was likely repaired on driver side. (I was in denial of this but that's a long story. ;^) ) For whatever reason(s), the caulking on seam just rear of hookups, from bottom of window height nearly all the way to the bottom, has failed whereas caulking at other seams on that side of van *appear* to be fine. Good news is that I found the leak and am confident I can repair it. Bad news: even with my best efforts, paint job will look like you-know-what.
