if the fuel pump doesn't run when turning on the key,
I would work on that for sure.
likely suspect is the ECU.
fuel pump relay possible but unlikley.
for just shutting off, I would sure consider the distributor/hall sensor.
fwiw, I have not seen that failure 'in flight' ..except for cutting
out/jerking ..
and not a clean shut off ...
though it does match the symptom of a clean shut off.
I figure we can expect that communication will just get sloppier and
less clear as time goes on- apparently.
