Thanks to all who responded. I feel really dumb. No, I did not check the breaker, overlooking it like an idiot. And, it was off. And why was it off? Because I had earlier turned it off, by accident. I demonstrated to myself by reenacting what I had previously done, and it turned the breaker off again.

Dumb, dumb, dumb. Oh well. mcneely
