This is a 1983 air cooled full Vanagon Westfalia camper with an automatic transmission that almost runs. Automatic transmission, Poptop, stove, refrigerator, both front seats swivel. It has factory cruse control and an air-conditioner (the compressor is missing).

My daughter bought it to be converted to a Subaru powered Westfalia, she did not notice it was air cooled. When I went to pick it up it started and ran half a block before is stopped. The brakes had locked up and the transmission would not leave 1st gear. It does have seam rust. I hired a tow truck to bring it back.

After a used transmission & new trans cooler (air), we put in a new master cylinder, new front calipers- pads - rubber hoses, repacked the front wheel bearings and new rear wheel cylinders. It will not quite run, It idles but dies when you give it gas.

It comes with a KEP auto transmission adapter to a Subaru 2.2, a new radiator, a new KEP mount, a new KEP coated header (all still in the boxes) & water pipes to carry the coolant forward. These are sitting in the back of the Vanagon. It does not come with a battery.

This Westfalia has to go & go soon, we are moving.

It is a project waiting for you to complete. Add a Subaru engine or stay with the aircooled 2.0L.

If you are looking for a whole project, want to convert a hard top into a Subaru Westy or just want all the "new still in the box conversion parts" this weekend here it is.
