Subject: panel rust

So here I am again, waging the inevitable war with the rust demons. I have a question. My door panels all have a drip corner to let moisture out. My wall panel behind the driver has seam rust and a rusted section that goes into the rocker panel. The question is, "Should there be an opening between the wall and the rocker panel?" Would I be wise to make an opening from the bottom of the wall to outside the DoKa? I have already accomplished that with the seam rust. ed-91 Doka, maybe needing a water outlet.
