I have never thought there is any reason to run the fuel hose through the hole in the firewall. What I do is ...join the hose on the engine directly to the hard plastic line coming from the fuel pump. Need to undo the clip that holds it to 'roof' above the starter. Then I clampis with a good screw or screw-band clamp to the plastic line, and I arrange it where I can see it at a glance from inside the engine compartment. this eliminates the metal or plastic firewall fitting 3 crimped or clamped junctions. plus.. no grommet needed. I have one very good metal firewall fitting I'd sell if anyone wants to buy it. Scott www,turbovans.com
