Jim,
Rebuilding a lifter requires machine work to restore the profile on the
surface of the lifter that contacts the cam.
The rest of the job is just cleaning and making sure the tolerances are
correct.
Cheers,
Jeff

No pitting anywhere. No problems at all, really, except after the car
sitting a long time and then it pumped up no problem. I will pull them out
and test them per bentley. My daughter was driving the car when the temp 2
sensor retainer gave way, letting out a lot of coolant in a hurry. Needless
to say, it overheated and needed head gaskets and thermostat housing. I was
just going to do the lifters while I was "in there." No oil pressure
problems on this car either.
