When I bought my house in Tyson's Corner VA, I had a terrible time with power for the 1st year. I think it was due to a new feeder line that the put in for my section. I'd frequently hear transformers blow (and then I'd be without power). However, once they finally resolved that, I've been in one of the few areas unaffected by the most severe storms (aka Derecho in June, and now Sandy).


Of course with 110+ feet tall trees in my back yard I do have a separate concern.


My Westy is parked on the street, as far away from those tall trees as I can make it. :)
