well.... if you are sure the injectors are not spraying .. work on that. What's the fuel pressure ? < I 'accidently' took one of those roaches in to work on a few months ago. 'No body' could get it to run on the left side, or on both left side cylinders. Eventually , after going through pumps, filters, and pressure regulators I found... and this explanned why it showed almost no fuel pressure on theleft side where the pressure testing port is .. but it ran fine on the right side ..............the middle of the fuel rail was clogged right at the Cold start injector, resulting in good pressure on the right side, none on the left. And this might even by why waterboxers have twin left and right fuel rails really ..and not one long with with 5 injectors in it. . > so ....make sure you don't have some fuel pressure issue.

find out if the injectors are being fired or not. ( NOID light ) . If they are not .. then work on ............why not. Sure, it could be the double relay not supplying power to the ecu. it couldbe cocorrosion and poor connection at various places, including grounds.

here is the 'diagnostic process' - 1. Observe that something isn't working right. It won't run - duh, OK , that's a symptom. 2. come up with reasons that could cause that ....faults that match the symptom .. oh, it could be out of gas, for example. 3. Test for that theory. 4. Just keep doing that over and over .. come up with a theory of what could be 'not there' ..then test for it.

where the process can break down is being able to test for it. Say , how are you going to tell if the injectors are not getting a signal without a noid light ? You're stopped right there in that case, for that symptom.

Ignition is generally easy to test for, and fix. If you have a non-Ca model up there...it likely has a points didistributor. Make sure that's working.

but come up with ways to test various theories that match the symptom.

'visual' works a lot too actually .. look for corrosion, cracked hoses, loose things, new things ......always check there since recent work is often a likely spot for the problem.

have fun ! scott www.turbovans.com
