Bottomline is these things were never called AnyColorStar in the United States. They may be spec'd out identical to the Hannover Editions (Blue/Red/White Stars) sold only in Europe but Blue Stars they aren't.

If I had a chance to buy a 'real' Hannover Edition Blue Star with a 'ZZZ' VIN, I would be willing to pay more for one vs. a Wolfsburg Edition with a US VIN.

Congrats on the acquisition. I am not saying there is anything wrong with the Wolfy's. But it remains a Wolfsburg in Blue Star clothing. It doesn't have all the right labels. Try going to your local VW dealership and ask for parts for a T3 Blue Star. I'll bet you will get a different look than from a VW dealer in Germany.
