... tks, Alistair. I actually have a second unit to open up and have part in hand when I go shopping. once upon an excursion a $20 VW transmission seal turned up as a $1.59 3mm x 90mm o-ring ...     =(: |)    mike

it is a square section ring, not a round section. I got one from dealership a few years ago. i agree, round can become square, but in this case it starts out square.
