Thanks for the info, Jarrett!

I have all the service records and it looks like the one owner hit all the required. Have read a lot about the timing belt issue on the TDI forums. We still don't see too many TDI's here in Northern Indiana. They are more common than Vanagons, but still rare. That is changing with newer models coming on line. Just checked VW's "Find Diesel" site and it is selling at $3.95 around here. Can't wait to spend $57.00 on a fill up that may go 600 miles.

Been researching the oil situation. Thanks for that advice!
