Hi everyone: We're planning a trip to San Jose next week so I thought it best to replace = the tires. We purchased our 81 Westy back in June and the 185/R14's had tons= of tread left on them but unfortunately had some cracks in the sidewalls an= d knew we were just running on borrowed time before a blow-out. I'm a huge f= an of upgrading to larger wheels/tires but didn't take this route mainly due= to cost. Being air-cooled, I also didn't want to add any extra weight plus = I leave it to my other VW's to do any "sporting" driving. That being said, = I'm very happy with the Hankook RA08's so far. The ride is definitely smooth= er and quieter, the price was great ($520 installed), and now I have piece o= f mind for our upcoming journey. I have also updated my blog with our latest camping trip to Detroit lake - f= eel free to take a look http://1981vwcamper.blogspot.com/ John. |
