Did you thoroughly lube the new cable before you installed it ? and test its smooth movement ? mandatory in my world. Lack of suffecient lubrication is something I see constanty in vanagons. it's not just putting in new parts.. it's carefulartful installation of new parts that really gets the good results. I did get tripped by a cheap newish heater valve once .. sure seemed like a cable problem ( new cable too ) . It was an extra stiff-to-move new looking heater valve that was the real problem. stay cozy ! scott
