As I mentioned earlier, I hooked up a good battery today and tested power windows, mirrors, etc. also heard the fuel pump run when I turned the key-and then later noticed a nice puddle of gas under the van-7 year old gas. I had hoped the PO had drained the tank, but it seems he did not. It also has the plastic fuel line fitting in the engine compartment that is responsible for the early demise of many a Vanagon. I asked the seller if his other Vanagon still had that fitting and he said yes. I advised him to get rid of it ASAP.
