Hello All:
My 1990 Carat has been parked for 4 years and it is time to sell it and all the parts associated with it.
It is currently parked in Paw Paw, WV (the corner of WV, MD and PA) When it was last running it developed a rod knock and a mechanic friend found shavings in the oil fiilter... probably a spun bearing was his diagnosis.
Anyway...I have 2 engines (the one in it and another that needed heads) I havea set of new re-manufactured heads still in the box and lots of other extras. I have a custom designed welded-alumimum footlocker type box that fits behind the two front seats (with the jumpseats out) that is PERFECT for camping or other gear and can be locked (Locks fit under a recessed lid)
The van itself has rust, peeling paint (from a botched re-paint job) etc associated with a vehicle that spent its life in the Mid-Atlantic states. It is a parts or project van for sure. The interior has the mouse pee/smell problems associated with the van sitting for 4 years. The engine thats out has the old heads pulled off of it.
In addition I have many extras:
- new windshield rubber seal - never installed.
- New Fix Kit for leaking gas line (the one that goes bad above the tank)
- 2 Jump Seats in nice shape (been in storage)
- Yakima Wind Screen and mounting hardwear.
- assorted project parts
I'd like to sell everything as a whole... it will have to be hauled away on a flatbed ... or depending on your location I might be able to have a friend tow it on a trailer (for an appropriate fee of course)
If no one makes and offer for the whole package I will part it out.
Note: The Locker/Box was custom made and I am asking $450 for it alone and will sell seperate from the Vanagon.
