Subject: Dash Frustration -- A Friday Vent
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

So last spring I took the entire dash out and performed all kinds of maintenance: fixed the leaky flapper vents, replaced the blower motor and the heater core, installed new MBC, took the wiper gear apart and re-greased it, and several other things. But the main reason I decided to get in there is that the footwell flap cable had bound up then broke. Stuck partway open. I replaced the cable it and checked its operation, then re-assembled the whole mess. It all worked like a charm although the footwell flap control seemed a little tough to move.

Today I tried to open the footwell and it doesn't. The lever moves, the stupid footwell flap stays closed. I can only get warm air out the defogger vents.

Grrrrr.
