MUCH earlier - when TROYBILT rototillers were a GardenWay product - we built several names on the same assembly lines. the local Sears store displayed the Cman units on the sales floor and kept the same product with the TROYBILT stickers in the back. you had to ask for the lower priced TB stickered machines and out manoeuver the salesperson. IDK if MTD honors the >original TROYBILT lifetime waranty. back in the 80s , one service call was for a 1957 model.  

Troybilt WAS a good machine. Really good. Now, not so much, just the sort of stuff made to sell in big box stores.
