Scott,

There is another Vanagon feature that many don't know about. That is the telescoping extension in the oil filler tube. I drove my first van a long time before I discovered it. Sure is a handy device to keep from making an oily mess when filling with oil. Slides right out to extend the filler neck, slide right back in when you are done. BUT - if you didn't KNOW it was there - you would surely miss it. It is not obvious.
