My van ('87 Wolfsburg) has been my main daily driver for about 15 years. I'm sorry to say I have given it minimal maintenance. Basically when things break or it fails emissions, I fix it. The last time it failed emissions, it was over $1000 to get it through. I paid $500 for a generic catalytic converter and the van never ran the same after that was fitted. No pickup from rest. But it started and ran fine and that was over 2 years ago. Just lately, I've noticed that after I get off the freeway and pull up at a light, there is a hesitation when taking off. Same thing when slowing for corners and then speeding up afterwards. The car still starts and idles perfectly. Any ideas what should be checked? My O2 sensor light has been on for years. I have a feeling last time it was replaced they did not reset the counter but that was quite a while ago. Also last time it failed emissions they said that my fuel injectors were ok but getting old.   -David ('87 Wolfsburg, Phoenix AZ)
