I sealed my windshield with gutter seal. Worked well for a year only. Tried to removed it without success and scratched the paint around it. Used screwdriver to pry windshield seal to apply WD 40 and sewing machine oil. -cracked the windshield -mechanic says to replace windshield will require $200. EXTRA to clean up the gutterseal

I have found that the Busdepot mats for driver and passenger work for drips! These mats corral the water in their honeycombs and a towel or a shake gets rid of it.

Hi All,

It is the (very) rainy season here on the wet coast. The good news is I can easily identify water ingress in my van. The bad news is, well, water ingress.

I would like to replace the seals, but it does not look like this will happen until the spring. (In snowballing work/effort, I would like to repaint when I do the seals, thus likely delaying the job)

I wonder what solutions people have had for buying a bit of time with leaky window seals. I have tried a bit of vaseline on the wing window and that seemed to help. Any other ideas?

The seals in question are:

* Wing window ( http://www.van-cafe.com/home/van/page_262_400/right_wing_window_weatherstrip_seal_1_per_door.html

* Window in the sliding door (just above the door handle) * I suspect the front window leaks (my left foot has been dripped on)

Tom
