Subject: [EDIT] OT: Tape recommendation [NVC]

No Vanagon Content Whatsoever

I need to find a good strong adhesive tape to use on carpet. We have a couple thin rubber floormats in the house at entrances. They are laid atop carpeting. They move and bunch up as people walk across them. I want to anchor them to the carpet to prevent that. I want to use tape, but I don't want to use duct tape because I don't need any adhesive residue stuck to the carpet. But the tape does need to be good and grippy, and strong. Any ideas?

Please p-mail me to avoid wasting list bandwidth. Unless you think your answer might also be useful in or near a Vanagon.

[EDIT]: I'm not looking to hide the tape. I think we'll get a stronger anchor if we tape around the margins of the rubber mat. Last year we used Gorilla Tape, which did an admirable job of holding the mats in place, but it did leave some residue on the carpet when we pulled it up. So something like that but with lowered residue jettisonage.
