HI Harry..
it is a most useful tool.
Any FLAPS would have one ..
and any professional Tool Truck. I have about 25 yrs on my Snap-On one.
I also sometimes rig a 'trigger wire' in the engine compartment.
one end is connected to the trigger terminal on the starter solenoid.
the other end I put a wire nut on as an insulated cap, andstash it
somewhere out of the way.
If the starter doesn't go from the Ignition Switch ..
Ican touch the end of the wire to the alternator hot post ....
if the weakness is in the ignition switch or wires in the van ..
using this wire can eeither get you going, or help figure out where the
problem is or isn't.
it's also a very handy spot to connect your Remote Starter Switch too ..
like for checking compression, testing the starter in situ, etc.

>> Hi All, So as I'm sitting here waiting for AAA I thought I'd ask for some advice. Van has been driving great. I go to leave from lunch and she won't start. It's a bostig conversion, and when I try to start I just get a whirring like it wants to start but won't. I tried a jump from my brother but no luck. The battery is less then a year old so it should be good. Tried rocking it in gear in case anything was stuck but nada. It is our 1st really cold day so I don't know if that's affecting things. Any recommendations? Cheers, Harry
