Once on the way out of town in a 69 bus, going to a big first Monday celebration about 50 moles away, my generator belt broke. Since it also drove the fan, I had to replace it. I had the belt in board but no wrench big enough to fit the big nut. The solution was the hasp of a bicycle lock scrounged from under the back seat. It fit almost perfectly and was long enough to provide removal torque.
